Topsoil & Bark
Topsoil & BarkWhether you are creating a new border or laying a new lawn we have got the right type of topsoil for you. Unlike a lot of soil suppliers our topsoil is not reclaimed from waste collection points.

We have two main soil types:

Border Soil
The border soil is ideal for creating new beds and borders or for toping up existing areas. It is made up of a blend of loam top soil and well rotted compost. The consistency of the soil is quite light and fibrous, therefore, ideal for root development of most garden plants. Because of the high organic matter content it is also ideal for improving heavy soils.

Turfing / Turfing Soil

The loam-based topsoil does not contain any peat and is made up of screened loam, very similar to what you may have in you garden already. Because the soil is quite dense, once it is added to the garden it can become quite compact. We recommend this soil if you are adding it to existing soils but mainly for laying a lawn on to. It is ideal if you are laying turf or if you are planning on seeding a lawn and because it has been finely screened it can be rake out to get your desired level with ease.

BarkTopsoil and Bark
One of the best ways to suppress weeds is the use of bark it also helps to retain moisture. There are a lot of options when it comes to buying bark and it really does come down to the better quality bark doing the best job. At Lymefield we only sell top quality bark and not woodchip (which removes the nutrients from your soil). All our bark has been sourced from renewable forests.

All our topsoils and bark can be supplied in what ever quantity you require. Whether it might be one bag, a bulk bag, or loose, call in or contact us.
