If you are looking to create raised beds for the purpose of planting herbs and vegetables, aiming to improve the quality of the soil in your borders, or just need a great potting mix to hand, our Bedding Top Soil is ideal. It is two parts loam mixed with one part mushroom compost. The mushroom compost is well rotted down, and so provides the perfect media in which to plant in to.
It is a Grade 1 Top Soil, meaning that it is extremely fine, with no reclaimed materials in it whatsoever. It is stored undercover to keep it dry, and is sold per bulk bag, each containing roughly around 900mm x 900mm x 900mm of top soil in volume.
Although we can provide a recalaimed soil for the purpose of backfilling or raising levels, we would always recommend finishing off with one of our Grade 1 Top Soils, whether it be the Loam for turfing on to/seeding in to, or the Bedding Compost for planting in to.
