Lymefield offer a variety of different delivery options tailored to the size of your product, the handling it requires, and your location. Delivery options are selectable at the checkout, and an automatic email will be generated when the order is placed, confirming the specifics of the order and providing a record of whether the order is to be fulfilled by local delivery or by courier.
Collect in Store
Collection in store is available for all items, including bulk bags! However, for larger items such as bulk bags or large turf orders, please call beforehand on 01457 764 686 as we will need to ensure that someone is available to load you up. For items which need to be prepared beforehand (i.e. turf and Farm Shop boxes), we will need at least a day's notice to prepare your order. Please let us know in the comment box at checkout when you would like to collect.
For orders over £35 we are able to offer local delivery by a staff member operating an articulated lorry or HIab – this service is free for delivery to postcodes beginning with SK13 or SK14. However, a delivery fee will be payable for local delivery to postcodes further afield – this delivery fee will be determined by postcode and will vary depending on your distance from the garden centre. The fee is automatically incorporated into the cost of the products when the postcode pricer at the checkout is used – i.e. no further charges are expected after the order has been placed. Once we have processed an order that is to be fulfilled by local delivery, we will send an email confirming the details of your order and advising you of an approximate time for delivery. If your order is before 4pm, we will always try to provide next day delivery, although circumstances may sometimes dictate that regrettably your delivery may take a maximum of 5 days to be delivered. These delays are more common around major events at the garden centre and over the festive season, so, where possible, we will try to keep you informed of potential delays via our social media accounts and the website! Weekday local deliveries are completed between the hours of 9am and 6pm; weekend delivery is available on Saturday only, between 9am and 12pm. Please be aware that deliveries fulfilled by local delivery will require HGV access to the road on which your property is sited – obstructions can cause delays, and where the site is completely inaccessible, delivery of goods supplied on pallets (e.g. bulk bags, paving etc.) will not be possible. A Hiab crane will be used to manoeuvre goods supplied on pallets, so larger goods can be delivered over walls where necessary. The driver will be able to move the pallet to a safe location by pallet truck, but will be unable to move the goods over uneven terrain (e.g. gravel or grass) or up a substantial slope. If you have specific delivery requirements (e.g. to avoid vehicle obstruction, or should you wish to be contacted when the driver is on route), please provide instructions in the comments section when you place your order. For orders under £35, all orders from the farm shop and butcher’s counter, and orders outside of our local delivery radius, we offer delivery by courier. For orders under 10kg, delivery is £6.50; an additional charge of 22p per kg is charged for orders over 10kg. At checkout, you will be able to choose a delivery date for your order, allowing you to select a date up to a maximum of 1 month ahead of the date that the order is placed. Items over 30kg or a meter in length are charged at £22.60 for the first 30kg; an additional charge of 41p per kg is charged for each additional kg. Accordingly, if at all possible, we strongly recommend you to choose local delivery for larger goods! In the event of problems on the day of delivery, we will try to give you a quick call to discuss alternative arrangements. Courier delivery should not be affected by the festive season or events at the garden centre! If no-one is available to receive the delivery, our courier will attempt to leave the goods with a neighbour or in a safe space. If this is not possible due to the situation or nature of the goods, then a second delivery will be attempted the following day unless we are notified by telephone on 01457 764686 that you wish to arrange an alternative delivery date. If we are unable to deliver the goods on the second attempted delivery, the goods will be returned to the garden centre and held in safe keeping until an alternative delivery date is arranged. If you are a member of our loyalty scheme and have consented to contact by Lymefield, we may attempt to get in touch on a provided email address or telephone number. However, we cannot accept liability for a failure to successfully arrange a third delivery date. If the order contains perishable goods and contact cannot be established, then we will remove the perishable goods from your order and a refund for their cost will be issued to the account used to conduct the transaction. All other items will remain in safe keeping until you can get in touch!
Both National Garden Gift Vouchers and Lymefield Gift Vouchers will be delivered via Royal Mail First Class recorded delivery for £1.74. This charge is incorporated in the price displayed on the product page, and at checkout – i.e. no further charge is payable. A signature will be required upon delivery. Neither Lymefield nor our chosen courier can accept liability for non-delivery of goods or damaged goods unless the following criteria are met:
For goods visibly damaged on delivery: The delivery sheet must be signed as damaged goods and a description of the problem must be included.
For failure to deliver goods on the designated date: A written notice must be sent to us within 24 hours of when the delivery ordinarily would have taken place. This can be via an email addressed to email@example.com
For goods received but discovered to be damaged: Photographic proof of damage to the goods must be sent to us via email and a phone call to confirm can be made to 01457 764686.
