Tea Room update – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Updated 9th April 2021

Following the Government’s guidance, we will be offering our takeaway food customers the opportunity to sit at our outside tables from 12th April 2021.

The safety of our staff and customers is very important to us. Therefore, there will be lots of different procedures and practices whilst you visit Lymefield today.   Our procedures will continually be revised and updated and placed on our website.  There is a link to our website on our social media. There are separate entrances and exits for our Takeaway, Garden Centre, and Farm Shop visitors.

Please do not visit Lymefield if any member of your party has COVID19 symptoms or has been asked to self-isolate.

Please use hand sanitising products on entering the site.

Please wear face coverings when in all enclosed spaces, this also includes the glasshouse.

Please follow our signs around the site whilst observing social distancing guidelines and stay 2 metres apart, or 1 metre with face coverings or other precautions.  Throughout your time at Lymefield, please respect our visitors and Lymefield colleagues.

To reduce the risk of contamination, please limit the number of personal belongings you bring with you, this also includes pushchairs and prams.

Windows will remain open around the site to provide optimum ventilation for those that are indoors.

This is a summary of our current practices for those who wish to enjoy Lymefield Takeaway Food:

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, it is critical that a range of measures are taken to keep everyone safe. As such, all visitors, aged over 16, are required to complete Test and Trace, in order to be able to enter our table area. Contact details are not required to be taken from those who will be taking their food away with them.

  • All party members, aged over 16, are to provide their name and contact details or use the official NHS QR code to ‘check in’ using the NHS COVID-19 app. If requested, customers’ names and contact details provided will be given to NHS Test and Trace. The customer contact information provided will be held securely in the Office Manager’s office for 21 days, before being destroyed.
  • We keep a record of all staff shifts on any given day.

At present, visitors can gather in groups of up to 6 people or 2 households. Please comply with Government advice that is relevant at your time of visit.

All Lymefield employees wear face coverings, as well as washing hands regularly.

In order to keep within the guidelines, we won’t be able to enjoy as much time as we would normally like chatting with our visitors, therefore we ask that you have your order ready for us to take once you have had time to consider our menu.

Please do not take a table until you have placed your food order. The tables are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to the limited number of tables, please bear in mind that there may be a wait for a table and we are unable to take reservations. Should we encounter a situation where there are too many people waiting for an outside table, we can take your mobile number and ask you to remain within a 10-minute vicinity and we will call you when a table will be available for you.

Payments are to be made at the till point when placing your order. Where possible please pay via contactless and restrict to one person from your party at the till point at any one time to reduce congestion.  On placing your order, you will be given an order number.

If you are taking your food away, you will be asked to wait whilst your food is prepared. If possible, please allow one person from your party to wait inside for takeaway food, to help reduce the number of visitors in the enclosed area.

If you wish to eat at a table, you will be shown which table you can take whilst you wait for your food and drinks to be prepared.  Your order number will be called when your order is ready.

Customers are asked only to consume food from our Lymefield Takeaway Menu and not their own food and drink at our outside takeaway tables.

Our colleagues are unable to touch customers’ own drink containers or baby products.

Whilst enjoying your visit please keep all members of your party together and once sat at a table, please remain seated, especially children, unless visiting the toilet or ordering additional items.

Should you wish to order additional items, please rejoin the queue and place your order.

If the weather deteriorates whilst you are eating outside, we are not permitted to allow you to continue eating inside.

The toilets, and the disabled access toilet with baby changing facility, will be operational and will be regularly cleaned according to our cleaning schedule.  Please visit the toilets via the glasshouse.

Exit from the Tea Room is via the route you entered, back to the glasshouse and then through the garden centre to the exit; therefore, you are required to wear your face covering when going back through the glasshouse, and then through the garden centre to exit.

When visiting the Farm Shop or Garden Centre, please enter via their specific entrances and wear a face covering when in an enclosed space. Only 8 adult visitors are currently permitted to be in the Farm Shop at any one time.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.  We are working hard to create a pleasant and safe experience for everyone, albeit with procedures to keep everyone safe and to be able to be open. Our team has worked tremendously hard in order that Lymefield has been able to remain open in various guises throughout the pandemic.  Therefore, we ask for your patience and understanding whilst they also experience each transition in order that we can continue providing the Lymefield service which will continue to evolve.  Thank you for your ongoing support.
